The Bobby Moore Fund for CRUK announced as the EFF Anniversary Partner

July 30, 2016

The England Football Team are delighted to announce that The Bobby Moore Fund (BMF) for Cancer Research UK will be the England Footballers Foundation (EFF) Anniversary Partner for 2016-17.

The partnership will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bobby leading England to victory in the World Cup in 1966 and will also form a key part of The EFF’s 10th year celebrations in 2017.

The England team will not only help tackle bowel cancer by donating vital funds but importantly, raise awareness of the disease that claimed Bobby Moore’s life at the age of just 51.

England captain Wayne Rooney said: “The players have enjoyed working with The Bobby Moore Fund over a number of years since we established the EFF in 2007. We are proud of what our partnership has achieved so far and by joining forces with the FA for the first time to support Stephanie and the BMF, we hope to do our bit in helping to beat bowel cancer.”

Stephanie Moore MBE, Founder of the Bobby Moore Fund said: “I am delighted that the EFF has chosen to support the Bobby Moore Fund as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bobby winning the World Cup with England and the 10th anniversary of The EFF. To have the support of the players is incredibly special and would mean so much to Bobby, who felt immensely proud to represent his country at the game he loved. We have enjoyed very loyal support from the EFF for many years and look forward to seeing what we will achieve together in our fight to beat bowel cancer.”
